About Me

Kelly is a habitual maker; a failed ‘craftsperson’ due to her inability to follow a pattern, she identifies as a contemporary fibre artist. Originally from Kalgoorlie-Boulder WA she now lives in North Pole Alaska. She enjoys bushwalks (forest walks!) and listening to podcasts about quantum mechanics, microbiology, plant behaviour and other niche science topics. Using traditional craft techniques and novel colour choices she creates bold textile-based objects which question our inbuilt biases and human-centric view of the world.

‘I often work intuitively in response to my materials at hand. I love to experiment with layering of colour, texture and patterns to create a sensory experience for the viewer, inviting them to feel a physical connection with the work.’
